As Sahar's 5th album, "Tir," from 2008, re-released by Sex Desire Records!

Despite being a masterpiece, this album, which had seen little circulation since its 2008 CD release and only a tape reissue in 2020, is themed around the myth of Arash the Archer, a Zoroastrian hero. "Tir" means "arrow" in Persian.

The first three tracks form a suite, captivating listeners with their intense yet passionate melodies and song structures that delve deeper while building upon the direction established since their first album.

They originally possessed very high musical potential and could have played any genre of music. This is evident in the splendid melodies and harmonies of the guitars, and the occasional inclusion of piano and synthesizer. However, the sharpness of the members' eyes, like arrows, in the photograph on the booklet's centerfold page, featuring them holding knives, makes it clear that these individuals can only exist within the realm of BLACK METAL.

BLACK METAL was a movement that erupted simultaneously across the globe, and I believe it's well-known to those who follow our label's releases that distinctive music was created in various regions, influenced by each other through tape trading.

Having started as the band Ethos in '87, they are one of the originators. While interacting with various bands such as Burzum, Rotting Christ, and Japan's Ohura Mazdo, they established a sound that only As Sahar could produce. The BLACK METAL from Singapore/Malaysia that they created and likely continued to influence subsequent generations has melodies entirely different from those in the West, and it also differs from Japanese BLACK METAL.

In a BLACK METAL scene that is becoming increasingly homogenized, I am honored to be able to re-release the trajectory of their journey as they continue to fight with their own sound.
