Serpent Dwellerは2020年カルフォルニア州で結成。

Sin for Belialの第一作目にして、それ以降のリリースとは異なっており、こちらは2nd wave影響下の物悲しいリフが迫り来るプリミティブブラックメタル。大仰な２部構成のイントロの後は、疾走感のある3曲目、いきなり初期Paradise Lostのようなミッドテンポ泣きのリフで始まる4曲目、ドゥーミーな5曲目と、飽きさせないアルバムです。

The debut release on Sin for Belial, and notably different from their later output — this is primitive black metal drenched in mournful, 2nd wave-influenced riffs. Following a grandiose two-part intro, the album keeps you engaged throughout: a relentless, fast-paced third track; a fourth track that opens abruptly with a mid-tempo weeping riff reminiscent of early Paradise Lost; and a doomy fifth track to close things out. A surprisingly varied and captivating listen.
