Of course, zero compromise is impossible for any artist and any work, but among the musicians I know, Moenos is the type furthest from compromise. However, things certainly haven't always gone smoothly, and by the time I heard the completion report, seeing glimpses of Moenos's struggles, I was convinced that my anxiety was unnecessary. That's because I believe that without struggle in expression, the heart cannot be truly moved.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFirst and foremost, I want to strongly emphasize that the tension from \"Metal del Chivo,\" which left not only SEX MESSIAH fans but also black metal enthusiasts from various quarters awe-struck by its awakening, is magnificently maintained in \"Sexus-Mortem Ouroboros.\" If you're already thinking, \"Don't lecture me endlessly,\" then you absolutely don't need to bother with my subsequent analysis; this is an album you can immediately play and thoroughly enjoy. The contribution of Abaddrums \"SEXXX\" Grinder, whose genuine South American metal-style beats, though buried in loud noise, chaotically yet surprisingly solidly support the structure, is once again high. With his assistance, Moenos's vocals, now with Spanish lyrics, are filled with a madness so intense it makes you flinch.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAnd what I immediately felt when I first heard it was that the noisy, harsh sound of black metal's emblematic guitars, amplified by an increased fuzziness this time, brings out an even clearer psychedelic aspect than in previous works. Moenos's approach to electronics originates from the Kansai underground psychedelia he experienced directly for many years. Therefore, SEX MESSIAH's black metal, while being extreme music that utilizes electronic approaches rather than traditional rock methods like doom metal, is permeated with a vintage analog feel throughout. This can be attributed to Moenos's strong foundation in psychedelic rock. Furthermore, the epic melodies, which haven't received as much attention until now, have also become more refined. This is not melancholic or sorrowful, but a distinct quality that, in SEX MESSIAH's case, I believe also stems from psychedelic rock.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eOne can discern the form of a snake, likely an Ouroboros, but it also appears as if the two figures intertwined beside it have become the shape of an Ouroboros. Delving deeper into Mr. 072's jacket art and title, it seems to suggest that the Ouroboros symbolizes not something metaphysically fantastical, but rather that the polluted lust of humanity contains all phenomena. My rough image of black metal is that it positions itself between the irreconcilable notions of spiritualism and nihilism, extracting their extreme qualities to express the self. If this is done with conviction, then black metal musicians are clever despite being barbaric fundamentalists. EVIL has remained silent since the release of their 2nd album. IMMORTAL DEATH's various demos have consistently sold out soon after release. I listen to this 3-way split and can't help but wonder if Moenos chose to release it during such a busy time because she feels she is finally approaching what she truly wanted to do in her career as a black metal musician, and she has a strong desire not to suppress that creative urge.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor example, this split not only provides tracks from each band but also includes a collaborative track by Moenos and EVIL. Furthermore, the layout by 072 of IMMORTAL DEATH, who is not afraid to tread on taboo subjects, aligns with the fundamental principles of black metal. To add my own feelings, all three bands participating here exude a reliability that doesn't stem from a petty pride in being Japanese metal\/extreme music artists, or such trivial things as an identity. EVIL's lyrics are in Japanese, and I know that Moenos respects so-called \"Japanoise\" artists. However, due to a slight misinterpretation of the fact that Japanese underground music enthuses foreign enthusiasts, and having continued on that path for many years, the counter-cultural ideal of \"No More Censorship\" loudly proclaimed by the punk bands and avant-garde music pioneers we were passionate about in the 80s has been completely undermined by the spread of imported compliance, leading to a decline in the domestic scene. Moenos's recent active engagement in overseas activities mirrors the attitude of Japanese underground heavy metal musicians in the 90s who, seeing the futility of activities in Japan, gained enthusiastic followers in Europe.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor this 3-Way Split, each band's new songs were provided with the condition that line recording was prohibited, meaning they were recorded in a single take. Coincidentally, I have been greatly captivated by the live recordings of all three of these artists, and I have particularly advocated for EVIL and IMMORTAL DEATH's live recordings as their best works. The new songs from EVIL, breaking their silence, form a black metal suite with a hint of hard rock, which is sure to spark debate among fans. IMMORTAL DEATH also proves that the destructive power they showed on the \"Live Nekromance\" TAPE was no magic trick.
